CAN REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS COME TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE?
This political season has been full of drama. There's been more drama in Washington than any soap opera on television. Our elected officials in Washington have kept us quite amused with all of the bickering and finger pointing. The problem here is that with all of the drama going on, absolutely nothing is getting done. The media keeps us entertained with all of the drama, but meanwhile we are here suffering silently trying to survive in this dismal economic environment. I think it is time for our elected officials in Washington to sit down at the table and get to work on doing the job they were elected to do, such as creating jobs and keeping their constituents in their homes. We the people, need our elected officials to sit down at the table together, republicans and democrats, and do what is known as COMPROMISE. Neither side is going to get everything they want, but if both sides would stop and think about what was best for the people, I think we could make some significant progress. Instead we have both sides doing what they think is right for their financial supporters (lobbyist) and therefore, the people end up being an afterthought. Our public officials need to realize that the rest of the world has been under the impression that we were a country that was UNITED, as in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. What we have shown the rest of the world in this political climate is that we are not united at all, but a country full of selfish, greedy, racist people. Is this the image we want to reflect to the rest of the world?
So I say to our public officials, republicans and democrats, you need to come together as a united front to attack all of the many problems this country faces. It is not going to happen if you continue to cause gridlock in Washington because nothing is going to get done, and more people will continue to lose jobs and their homes. If you really want to know how your constituents feel about this, try doing something you have never done before, ASK THEM.
